Product details

In Aramaic, "Baluto" literally means "oak." This ancient language is still spoken today by the Syriac-Assyrian inhabitants of the Turabdin region in Turkey. The locals continue to rely on the traditional method of grinding acorns from the oak into flour to bake bread, which has helped them survive famines and harsh living conditions. We named this wine "Baluto" to honor the local flora of the Turabdin region, including the ancient oaks and their valuable acorns. This special reserve wine was made with indigenous yeasts and aged for 15 months in French oak barrels. Only 2,100 bottles were produced.
