The Lindt brand was founded in 1879 by Rodolphe Lindt, the son of a Bernese pharmacist. At that time, chocolate was still hard, difficult to eat, and challenging to process. It was Lindt who succeeded in creating shiny, delicately melting chocolate. A true sensory delight and a real pleasure. The foundation for success was laid, and twenty years later, he founded the now well-known Lindt & Sprüngli AG together with Rudolf Sprüngli, the founder of the first chocolate factory in German-speaking Switzerland in 1845. The most traditional Lindt product, the famous Gold Bunny with its ribbon and bell, made its debut in 1952.
