Guinness Hop House 13 is a creation of the Guinness brewers and is a double-hopped lager made from Irish barley, featuring subtle malt notes and a fresh hop aroma. Named after a hop storage facility on the grounds of the St. James' Gate Brewery, Guinness Hop House 13 represents the symbiosis of tradition and modernity: a classic beer style with a modern twist. Today, various hops are still stored in the Guinness Hop House 13. This inspired the young brewers of the Guinness Open Gate Brewery to create a double-hopped lager. Guinness Hop House 13 is a crisp lager with flavors of apricot and peach. The fruity notes pair excellently with the malty base, which is attributed to the use of crystal malt. It pairs wonderfully with light game dishes such as duck breast on young pak choi, aromatic Asian cuisine, quickly fried chicken with satay sauce, or lightly tart desserts.
