The Yarden Katzrin delicately and finely structures the nose with aromas of ripe cherries, plums, and blackberries. This wonderful bouquet combines with pleasant notes of chocolate and orange zest, along with earth and herbs, rounded off with flowers and spices. This opulent wine is full-bodied, showcasing concentrated flavors and a very long finish. The Yarden Katzrin is primarily composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, with a balanced proportion of Malbec, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. All grapes come exclusively from the cool vineyards of the Golan Heights. The grape must ages in new French oak barrels for two years: the first 18 months separately, and then an additional 6 months after blending. The production of this wine demands the highest quality grapes and is therefore only made in suitable years and in limited quantities. It can be very difficult to resist opening the passionately offered Yarden Katzrin. However, the wine reaches its peak within a few years and can remain in optimal drinking condition for over a decade under suitable conditions.
