Additionally, every sold pack of organic cashews funds the followfood Soil Protectors Initiative, which supports the development of healthy soils for sustainable agriculture.

The followfood organic cashews come from a Fairtrade flagship project in the province of Bobo Dioulasso in western Burkina Faso or from the smallholder Fairtrade cooperative in Bình Phước province in southwestern Vietnam. In Burkina Faso, the delicious cashews are grown in an environmentally friendly manner without irrigation, hand-harvested, and sorted. The Fairtrade certification ensures that all farmers have a work contract and receive at least the minimum wage. Similarly, in Bình Phước province in southwestern Vietnam, sustainable farming methods, environmental protection, and socially acceptable working conditions with fair wages and prices are prioritized.
