The small southwestern French appellation of Madiran is a particular specialty among lovers of lusty, deep-dark and subtle wines. For many, number one is the Château d'Aydie of the Laplace family, modest but extremely quality-conscious creators. In recent years they have perfected their style, which emphasizes the fruit of the tannat and gives it a fine polish despite its rough edges. Good storage potential.
