El Regajal Galia Clos Santuy

Galia – sounds Italian, looks French, but is in fact a proud Spaniard. It is the personal project of French oenologist Jerome Bougnaud, who also works for Pingus. The grapes for Clos Santuy thrive in a plot in Piquera de San Esteban, in a mixed vineyard with Tempranillo and the white Albillo grape, featuring own-rooted vines from 1930. The aromatic profile is balsamic-spicy, reminiscent of cedar, blackcurrant wood, jalapeño, and a hint of damp stone. On the palate, this elegant long-distance runner reveals dark berry flavors, with notes of black olives, tea leaves, and tarragon. Spice and noble wood aromas are densely intertwined. Tip: Decant 2 hours before enjoying. A wine that rewards patience.
