Since Roman Horvath, estate manager and Master of Wine, along with cellar master Heinz Frischengruber, took the reins of the Domäne Wachau, the winery and its winemaking families have experienced an unprecedented dynamism. In a remarkably short time, they have risen to become major players along the Danube, thanks in no small part to a sophisticated vineyard program and meticulous quality work. The steepness and elevation of the terraces are honored, with individual sites processed separately. Hand harvesting and targeted selection form the foundation for perfect grape material. The result is a unique spectrum of different Veltliners and Rieslings that have long amazed the international wine world.
