Description: Mascobado is a ready-to-use, strong Fairtrade and organic whole cane sugar that is extracted from the juice of the sugar cane. The full flavour and all the natural substances of the plant are retained. Mascobado is produced in the Philippines using a traditional process. As unrefined sugar, it does not crystallise as regularly as industrial white sugar. We import mascobado directly from the Philippines from Alter Trade, a marketing centre run by grassroots organisations. It organises the processing, packaging and export of the whole cane sugar.
