Product details
Gian Annibale is an ambitious yet sentimental project. It is a tribute to the successful and passionately lived life of my uncle Gian Annibale, whose footsteps I have had the honor of following in managing the Castello del Terriccio winery. Over 20 years ago, Gian Annibale Rossi di Medelana Serafini Ferri had the idea to plant the Petit Verdot grape variety at the winery in Tuscany in close collaboration with a French winemaker. With the Addis and Tregge vineyards, totaling about 2 hectares, he found the optimal parcels to highlight the special characteristics of Petit Verdot: plenty of fruit, spice, tannin, acidity, and complexity. With the wine Gian Annibale, the only nephew and current manager of the winery, Vittorio Piozzo di Rosignano, along with winemaker Carlo Ferrini, has succeeded in realizing Gian Annibale's vision of creating a new, exceptional blend with Petit Verdot as the main grape variety. Blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, this exceptional wine presents a fragrant and spicy bouquet, with blackcurrants and blueberries in the foreground, along with a hint of black pepper. The palate is enveloped by an elegant yet dense texture, paired with a spicy note reminiscent of tobacco, juicy dark berries, and refined, silky tannins. To Gian Annibale!.
