In 1928, Carlo Botter founded his winery with a few hectares of land and a small cellar near Venice, on the border with Friuli, selling local Veneto wines in barrels or demijohns. Today, his sons and grandsons manage around 100 hectares of the Botter AG winery on the family estate in Motta di Livenza. The location of the operation is ideal for viticulture, and Botter emphasizes strict quality control and careful, gentle vinification. Today, with an export share of 98%, Botter is the undisputed market leader in exporting wines from Veneto and all of Italy to over 40 countries worldwide. Veneto is one of the most significant wine regions in Northern Italy. With its vast vineyard area of over 90,000 hectares and fertile volcanic soils, Veneto has great potential. The share of DOC wine from Veneto accounts for more than a quarter of the total production. This is the home of the beloved Amarone and Ripasso. The red wines are made from grape varieties typical of Northern Italy: Molinara, Rondinella, and Corvina Veronese. Together, these varieties produce fruity and full-bodied classics.
