Bodegas Ego Monastrell ``Talento`` Jumilla

Typical, full-bodied Monastrell with aromas of elderflower and blackcurrant, jammy, with fine spice, uncomplicated and smooth, yet still with character. It has won gold at Mundus Vini every time with the vintages 2011, 2012, and 2013.

Egos Bodegas is a project in its infancy, led by young entrepreneur Santos Ortiz Sanz. After 15 years of experience as the managing director of Bodegas Luzon, he decided to cultivate his own vineyards in Jumilla. In 2010, he acquired 25 hectares of vineyard, some of which feature 50-year-old vines. The original landowners have always farmed the area organically. Ortiz Sanz believes that organic farming is a significant advantage and that the region, with more than 3000 hours of sunshine a year, offers optimal climatic conditions for organic agriculture. He grows Tempranillo, Syrah, and the region's characteristic Monastrell.
