Product details
This coffee exhibits notes of tropical and citrus fruits, with a strong acidity balanced by a honey-like sweetness. Victor Calderon purchased the farm in 2001 and operates it using environmentally friendly methods, such as using clay to combat leaf rust. The employees of El Tambor live on the farm and cultivate 10% of the land to produce their own vegetables. Le Piantagioni Del Caffè was founded by the Meschini family in 1994 out of the need to offer unique single-estate coffees and is a subsidiary of the traditional roastery Arcaffè in Livorno. The family knows all their producers personally and sources their coffees themselves. Victor Calderon has been running his farm for over 20 years, focusing on environmentally friendly cultivation. For instance, he uses clay instead of a fungicide to stop the spread of coffee rust, a severe fungal disease that can affect coffee leaves. Roasted gently and slowly by the Meschinis, this roast brings out everything a washed coffee from Guatemala has to offer: exciting fruity notes, a slight citrus touch, and a wonderfully sweet finish.
