Clean the skin area. Remove the first half of the protective film. The fixation strips can be used on the catheter wings or catheter body for additional security. Peel off the backing paper. Centre the dressing over the puncture site. Mould the foil to the catheter body and catheter to avoid the risk of "tunneling" and thus the penetration of bacteria. Removal Lift one corner of the film and overstretch it parallel to the patient's skin while stabilising the patient's skin and catheter with the other hand. Release and repeat the procedure.
