Safe-Gel 7days by Sàfilens is the newly developed and world's first weekly replacement contact lens with integrated hyaluronic acid. Especially beneficial for dry and sensitive eyes, the hyaluronic acid supports the tear film. The Safe-Gel 7days weekly lenses are characterized by a combination of innovative lens material and a special lens geometry. The high oxygen supply to the corneal epithelium throughout the entire wearing period is ensured by the Safe-Gel 7days contact lens.

The innovative material combination of Safe-Gel 7days consists of various types of polymers; Filcon 1B polymer is combined with the biopolymer sodium hyaluronate. Filcon 1B forms the solid structure of the Safe-Gel 7days lens, while the sodium hyaluronate gel is enriched with essential tear film electrolytes calcium, magnesium, and potassium, forming the aqueous outer phase of the Safe-Gel 7days contact lens.

A high DK value alone is not responsible for optimal oxygen supply to the cornea. The quality of the tear film provided by the lens and the thickness of the mucin layer determine how well the oxygen supply ultimately is. If the aqueous phase of the tear film is sufficiently large, enough oxygen can also be transported to the mucin layer, which in turn emits oxygen to the eye in the corneal epithelium.

The body's own hyaluronic acid manages the contact lens and the eye, perfectly adapting the lens. The slow and continuous release of the Safe-Gel 7days gel solution sodium hyaluronate through body temperature and blinking provides unique comfort. This ensures optimal oxygen supply to the cornea. Additionally, the Safe-Gel 7days lens features a UV blocker that protects the cornea from harmful rays.
