About the SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Test for Home Use: The self-test of the SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Test is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of the nucleocapsid protein of SARS-CoV-2 in human nasal samples. In a clinical self-testing study, the SARS-CoV-2 antigen rapid test showed a sensitivity of 82.5% and a specificity of 100.0% compared to the RT-PCR test. The relative sensitivity was 91.2% for samples with high viral load (Ct ≤ 30). Patients suspected of having COVID-19 followed written and illustrated instructions to collect and test samples themselves. Most study participants found the procedures easy to perform.
