Foam dressing with five layers for pressure ulcer prevention and the treatment of heel wounds. The Mepilex Border Heel dressing is the only five-layer foam dressing designed for the heel with Deep Defense technology – when used with other standard prevention protocols, it has been proven to prevent the development of pressure ulcers. The dressing can also be used to treat moderately to heavily exuding wounds in the heel area. It absorbs and retains exudate, while providing adequate moisture balance to prevent maceration. This improved design features new tabs and thicker edges for quicker application and assessment of the patient. The heel shape has been optimized to ensure good coverage of the heel and ankle area, which is particularly at risk. The optimized design also includes Safetac – the original contact layer with silicone adhesion that minimizes pain during dressing changes. Therefore, the dressing is comfortable and conforms to the patient's anatomy – it can be easily removed without damaging the skin, making dressing changes less painful for your patients.
