Unlike the classic oxidative hair colors, which are water-based, Matrix Color Insider is based on an oil base. This oil system optimizes the efficiency of the hair coloring process and facilitates the penetration of active ingredients into the hair fiber. Matrix Color Insider uses a lower percentage of MEA (monoethanolamine) as an alkaline active ingredient. Unlike ammonia, MEA does not have a strong odor.
