Ligasano can be applied directly to the wound. This creates a continuous, relatively even contact between the wound and Ligasano due to the elasticity of the material. The sponge-like internal structure absorbs wound exudate, preventing fluid accumulation and thus the maceration of the wound, while also reducing the bacterial count. It is 0.4 mm thick. Possible applications include: - Tamponing the nail fold, especially for ingrown nails - Protection against pressure and friction, particularly in the interdigital area, e.g., for fungal infections and after the removal of corns, in cases of hallux valgus, and heel spurs. Ligasano can be autoclaved and re-sterilized.
