The scale calculates your BMI (Body Mass Index) based on your weight and height, providing a rough guideline for assessing your weight. The value should be in the range of 19 to 24 for adult women and 20 to 25 for men. Note that the calculation does not differentiate between muscle and fat mass, so the value may not be reliable for athletes, pregnant women, and seniors.

In addition to weight, the personal scale also displays body fat percentage. To do this, the scale sends a weak current through the body. Since fat conducts electricity worse than muscle, different resistances are created, which the device measures. Using this information, along with additional details such as height, age, and gender, the scale calculates your body fat percentage.
