Reliable skin care is of particular importance in diabetes, as specific skin changes are possible as a consequence of the metabolic disorder. The most common skin change with a prevalence of around 40 % is xerosis (dry skin). Sweat and sebum production is often reduced and the skin becomes flaky and cracked. As a result, dehydration eczema, often associated with severe itching, can occur. Furthermore, the skin loses elasticity and is prone to premature signs of ageing. Taking into account the special needs of diabetic skin, EUBOS research has developed a dermatologically tested product range with diabetic skin care: Special products for facial and body care as well as a foot and leg balm have been developed to provide intensive care for dry skin and to counteract premature skin ageing. They contain selected cosmetic active ingredients tailored to the respective area of application and have a pleasant fragrance - for a greater sense of well-being. The special active ingredients in combination with valuable oils provide intensive moisturisation, have a soothing effect on irritated skin and help to strengthen its protective function. Regular use helps to improve skin moisture and elasticity. The natural skin barrier is strengthened and thus the skin's natural protective function is improved.
