4. Tamiya Polishing compound
This paste-like polish uses small particles which are required for fine polishing of smooth surfaces (after priming) before you apply the top coat/color coat of the model. It can also be used to polish out scratches from transparent plastic parts. Repeat this process until you have achieved the desired result. For application and polishing use the original TAMIYA Polishing Cloths 300087090. For further applications the following TAMIYA Polishing Compounds are available: 300087068 Polishing Compound Coarse/Groh (for heavy paint inclusions). 300087070 Polishing Compound Finish (fine particles / polish out the slightest inclusions / give the final coat of paint or clearcoat a special deep gloss). The Tamiya Paint and Coating Remover effectively removes Tamiya acrylic, enamel, and lacquer-based paints from polystyrene plastics. Galvanized plastics can also be stripped using the Paint Remover.
Application: Apply some Paint Remover to a cloth or cotton swab and remove the excess paint. Use only original Tamiya cotton swabs that are compatible with the Paint Remover. For complete paint removal, painted or coated plastic parts can be immersed in the remover. The soaking time should not exceed one hour (small parts about 10 minutes, large parts a maximum of 1 hour). Afterward, use a brush to wash off the paint from the parts, rinse with water, and allow the parts to dry completely.
