Product details
The ballista consists of two modules: the firing unit and the base. The base has adjustable legs that stabilize the machine during firing. The firing unit, or the actual ballista, shoots wooden bolts. The firing mechanism can launch up to three bolts in one round.
The traverse and lift mechanism allows the ballista to be positioned at the desired angle in both horizontal and vertical planes to hit the target. The lever for the lift mechanism is located on the right side of the model. The same lever also acts as a trigger, launching your bolt at the target.
The firing module can be removed from the base and mounted on the tower, the second part of the Ballista/Tower model.
This weapon, designed for demolishing fortifications, has been in use since ancient times. However, Ugears' two-part model refers to the medieval period, which is especially evident in the design of the tower. Adorned with ornaments, it conceals a classic ivy-covered castle tower with a heraldic dragon on a coat of arms. The gears on the side of the tower are part of the mechanism that raises the second level, revealing the spiral staircase and the inner structure. The tower is fully extended when the entire shield with a dragon, standing parallel to the tower wall, is visible. Aim your ballista at the shield, and the second level will collapse.
Sharpen your accuracy, take over the castle, immerse yourself in the romantic era of true chivalry, and perhaps rescue a damsel in distress with the Ugears Ballista and Tower model.
Assembly time: approximately 6 hours.
