1999: While the Earth is threatened by a runaway atomic satellite, young Frenchwoman Claire Tourneur falls in love with the stranger Trevor McPhee, who is on a mysterious mission traveling around the world. With the help of detective Phillip Winter, she follows Trevor's trail, while being watched by her ex-boyfriend, who is still in love with her. However, the endeavor is not without danger, as the US intelligence agency is also on Trevor's heels, seeking to obtain his father's incredible invention. (2 Blu-rays)

Frustrated by the "Reader's Digest" version of his film imposed by the distributors, Wenders created a "Director's Cut" two years after the film's release, which, with a length of 4 ½ hours, does justice to his intentions and the epic story. Until the End of the World is considered one of Wenders' most ambitious film projects. The preparations for the film took nearly a decade.
