Tamiya US Self-Propelled 155mm Gun M40

The display model is a replica of the American self-propelled vehicle known as the 155-mm M40. The M40 was an important step in the artillery mechanization of the U.S. Army, as it combined the 155-mm M1 gun with the proven M4 Sherman chassis. The armor was kept relatively light due to its intended use as a long-range weapon, achieving an effective range of 23.5 km. The M40 served in the Korean War and was eventually replaced by the M53.
