The model is a replica of the Soviet armored car BA-10. These armored cars were invented in the later stages of World War I and were used by many armies around the world in the period leading up to World War II. They were designed for tasks requiring high mobility, such as scouting and ambushing enemy communications from the rear. The Soviet BA-10 armored car was armed with a 45-mm gun and a machine gun, making it a formidable opponent for German troops. However, the factory where these armored cars were produced had to be evacuated, leading to the cessation of BA-10 production in 1941.
