Product details
The Tiger II, developed in 1943 and unofficially referred to as the King Tiger, was mass-produced at Henschel starting in 1944. The King Tiger remarkably combined the demands for armor protection and firepower. Its frontal armor, up to 150 mm thick, could not be penetrated by any projectiles from the main guns of opposing tanks. The sides of the hull were armored up to 80 mm. Despite several massive bombing raids by the Allies on the Henschel factory in Kassel, a total of 492 Tiger IIs, including prototypes and 50 vehicles equipped with Porsche turrets, were delivered to the troops. However, not all of them reached the front units. A significant number of Tiger IIs were lost due to drive problems resulting from their high overall weight or simply due to fuel shortages. New tool design with fine surface details. Rotatable turret with an elevation-adjustable gun. Injection-molded tracks. Turret hatches can be optionally displayed open. Zimmerit (anti-mine coating) not included. Authentic representation of the following versions: Heavy Tank Battalion 503 Hungary/Eastern Front, October 1944. Heavy Tank Battalion 506 Western Front, March 1945.
