Product details

Baron Manfred Freiherr von Richthofen and his red Fokker triplane made history in the 1st World War. The Fokker Dr. I was introduced to the Western Front in June 1917 and only after a long test phase and the approval of the ace pilot Manfred von Richthofen was granted by the General Staff. The Dr. I was the most agile of all deployed aircraft and achieved high climb speeds. With the Oberusel radial engine (output 110 HP) the Dr. I reached a top speed of 193 km/h and could climb to 3000 m altitude in 6 minutes. Two Spandau-MG's were installed in front of the pilot's cockpit. All pilots of the group around Richthofen flew red triple-deckers. At the end of 1917 the Dr. I was withdrawn from the western front, but the red baron continued to fly this type and achieved a total of 80 launches before it was shot down in April 1918. Detailed radial engine. Movable propeller. Detailed cockpit with control stick, seat and control pedals. Structured wings. Two Spandau MG's. Landing gear with movable wheels. Pilot figure Manfred von Richthofen and two ground crew figures. Decals with national insignia and inscriptions. Manfred von Richthofen, jasta 11, August 1917. Manfred von Richthofen, April 1918.
