Product details

The four-engine Avro Lancaster was undoubtedly the most famous of all heavy RAF bombers during World War II. From 1942 onwards, it formed the backbone of the night bombing offensives deep into Germany and gained fame for sinking the Tirpitz as well as destroying the Möhne and Eder dams. The Lancaster was capable of carrying bomb loads of up to 9,980 kg; the heaviest single bomb was the Grand Slam. It served in 68 RAF Bomber Command squadrons until 1945 and flew a total of more than 156,000 missions. Of the 7,300 aircraft produced, nearly half were lost during these missions. Today, only two airworthy examples remain, one in the UK and one in Canada.

New kit form with detailed surfaces and recessed panel lines. Detailed cockpit with instrument panel and side panels, navigator and radio operator area. Detailed bomb bay with bomb bay doors and retraction struts. Three rotating MG turrets, 12 bombs, and a "Cookie" bomb. Canopy glazing with various mounting configurations, detailed Merlin engine, main landing gear bay with separate side braces, and detailed main landing gear. Movable propellers with two different propeller blades.
