The charming drifter Luke (Terence Hill) roams the American Southwest in his Renegade Jeep with his horse Joe Brown, making a living through small-time cons. However, his carefree life comes to an end when his old friend Moose asks him from prison to take care of his rebellious teenage son Matt (Ross Hill) and his country house. Along the way, they encounter a host of troubles: feuding truckers, nighttime killer squads, and biker gangs trying to push them off the highway. An adventure-filled time begins for Matt and Luke.
