Abrasion resistance
High hardness and low coefficient of friction contribute to bevel gears made of Hostaform C showing more favorable abrasion behavior than bevel gears made of other plastics - and even some metals.

Flexural fatigue strength and tensile strength
The ultimate bending stress of Hostaform C was determined to be 11.70 kN/cm² on a standard small rod of 4 mm. The tensile strength is 7 kN/cm².

Influence of moisture
Unlike other thermoplastics, the good properties are not affected by air, moisture or lubricating oils. Gears made of Hostaform C also work perfectly under water.

Service temperature in air
The temperature range in which bevel gears made of Hostaform C can be used is -40° C to +40° C, taking into account the level and duration of exposure.
