High hardness and low friction coefficient contribute to the fact that bevel gears made from Hostaform C exhibit more favorable abrasion behavior than those made from other plastics and even some metals.

Bending Fatigue Strength and Tensile Strength
The limit bending stress of Hostaform C was determined to be 11.70 kN/cm² at a standard small rod of 4 mm. The tensile strength is 7 kN/cm².

Influence of Moisture
Unlike other thermoplastics, the good properties are not affected by air, moisture, or lubricating oils. Gears made from Hostaform C operate flawlessly even underwater.

Operating Temperature in Air
The temperature range in which bevel gears made from Hostaform C can be used, taking into account the height and duration of the load, is -40 °C to +40 °C.
