The model is a replica of the Ford Escort Mk. II. The Ford Escort Mk. II was launched in 1975 and represented a significant advancement compared to the Escort Mk. I, which was introduced at the Brussels Motor Show in January 1968. It utilized the reliable mechanical components of the Mk. I but adopted a new square-style design that aligns with the aesthetic and stylistic tastes of the 1970s.

The product range was extensive and offered in three body variants (2-door, 4-door, and 3-door station wagon), five engine types, as well as a variety of trims and configurations. The Escort Mk. II was primarily manufactured at the Ford Group's German plant and achieved good commercial success. In addition to the more classic version, the Escort Sport version was also released, characterized by a more aggressive look and a distinctive sporty interior. To successfully compete in the World Rally Championship, a special model, the RS 1800, was introduced to complete the model range.
