The sporty version of the street model Lancia Delta – the "HF" 4WD – is an icon among rally cars. The Delta HF was produced in the second half of the 1980s and participated in the World Rally Championship from 1987 to 1988, winning two world championship titles and securing first place in numerous races, including the prestigious Monte Carlo Rally and the San Remo Rally. The further development, the Lancia Delta Integrale, continued to compete until 1993 and won an additional five world championship titles.

In addition to many aesthetic details such as the widened fenders and new air intakes on the hood, the engine of the HF Integrale was also improved. The power of the 2-liter (1,995 cc) turbo engine in the street version was increased to 185 hp, while the final version of the rally version delivered 250 kW (340 hp). The Lancia Delta HF Integrale dominated the World Rally Championship between the 1980s and early 1990s, leading many famous drivers like Miki Biasion, Didier Auriol, and Juha Kankkunen to triumphs.

The high-quality kit from Italeri must be assembled independently. The assembly is guided by a step-by-step or illustrated instruction manual, which is, of course, included in the package. Based on the assembly instructions, the precisely fitting individual parts must be put together. Painting of the parts can be done according to personal preferences. Tools, glue, and paints are not included in the plastic kit and must be purchased separately.
