The B-24, known as the Liberator in the service of the British Royal Air Force, was a four-engine heavy bomber manufactured by the American company Consolidated Aircraft. The B-24 was the most produced American aircraft type during World War II and, alongside the Boeing B-17 "Flying Fortress," was the primary horizontal bomber of the United States Army Air Forces in the European theater of war.
