The Mustang came with a 170-cubic inch six-cylinder base engine with a three-speed manual transmission, full wheel covers, bucket seats, carpeted flooring, and a padded dashboard—all at a base selling price of $2,320. An optional 260-cubic inch V8 engine was also available.
