Meng-Model Merkava Mk.3D Early

The Merkava Mk.3D main battle tank (MBT), currently in service with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), is an upgraded version of the Merkava Mk.3. It is equipped with a 120mm smoothbore gun, the BAZ sight for the gunner, and a panoramic commander’s sight. The removable additional armor plates on the turret roof and sides significantly enhance its protective capability. As the most widely used MBT of the IDF, the Merkava Mk.3D participated in the Second Lebanon War in 2006, Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip in the winter of 2009, and various other security activities along the Israeli border.

It offers an accurate representation of the turret features of the Merkava Mk.3D, with two options for the road wheels and the driver’s hatch. The headlights can be opened and closed as desired, and all periscopes can be positioned open or closed. The subtle tie-down points on the back of the turret are easy to assemble, and the kit includes very detailed, colored assembly instructions.
