Product details

The MENG QS-003 Fokker Dr.I Triplane is a plastic model kit in 1:24 scale that represents the iconic German fighter aircraft from World War I. Designed by Anthony Fokker and Reinhold Platz, this triplane was developed in response to the British Sopwith Triplane, known for its exceptional maneuverability and high climb rate, which provided a significant advantage in close combat. The aircraft reached a top speed of 165 km/h, a climb rate of 5.7 m/s, and a ceiling of 6095 m, powered by a 110 hp engine. Its armament included two synchronized 7.92 mm Spandau machine guns that fired through the propeller arc. The aircraft gained fame among pilots like Manfred von Richthofen, the Red Baron, who achieved numerous aerial victories with it. Series production began in October 1917, with about 320 units built by the end of the war. This model kit captures the distinctive triplane design and historical details, offering modelers an accurate representation for display. It is suitable for model-building enthusiasts with a focus on military aviation history and scale modeling, emphasizing precision and authenticity during assembly.
