In spring 1958, the pretty Rose (Dborah Franois) wants more than just to languish in her father's grocery store in Normandy. She dreams of the big wide world—or at least of life in the next largest city. Secretly, she applies to Louis Echard (Romain Duris) for the job that every woman in the 50s desires: secretary. Although she is completely unqualified for it, she gets the position simply because she can type faster than Louis can finish his sentences. Louis' competitive spirit is ignited, and he signs Rose up for the regional typing competition. Under his strict supervision, she must practice, practice, practice. And while Rose falls in love with Louis, he dreams of making his protégé the fastest woman in the country—no, the whole world! Or is his passion no longer solely focused on the competition?.
