On the hunt for valuable treasures, adventurers explore the legendary temple in Luxor. The goal is the Pharaoh's tomb. However, even on the way there, there are numerous treasures to collect. A competition ignites: The player who, with their team of five adventurers, reaches the tomb the fastest while also collecting many treasures will win the game. No game is the same as the path to the tomb varies in each session and even changes during the game, presenting players with new challenges.

In the run-and-collect game "Luxor," players enter an ancient Egyptian temple with their adventurers and follow the corridor to the Pharaoh's tomb. The path is already lined with valuable vases, statues, jewelry, and other treasures. To collect these, up to three of their own figures must stand on the same space. This requires good planning, as the adventurers are moved by playing hand cards. However, only the two outer cards of the five in hand can be chosen. Rearranging is not allowed. Drawn cards always go to the center of the hand. The deeper a figure penetrates into the temple, the more points it will earn at the end. The fastest players not only grab many treasures but also the sarcophagi in the tomb.

From this burial site, the adventurers are met not with stale air, but with a pleasantly fresh breeze. Rüdiger Dorn presents a modern interpretation of the treasure-collecting game with "Luxor," centered around a card mechanism that is both easy to understand and challenging. This serves as an excellent foundation for an exciting positional scramble time and again. Even the Pharaoh himself would probably love to join in once more.
