Italeri V-22 Osprey

The V-22 Osprey represents a revolutionary new aircraft that can function both as a helicopter and a conventional airplane. It is currently undergoing troop trials with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marines, who are testing the flight characteristics of this tiltrotor aircraft. Thanks to its particularly large tiltrotors, the Osprey is capable of taking off and landing like a helicopter. Once airborne, the rotation of the engines achieves speeds and ranges previously unattainable by helicopters. The V-22 is intended to replace the aging CH-46 as a transport and combat helicopter for the Marines and is also set to become standard equipment for Special Forces.
