Product details
The 1:35 scale model of the US M-7 Priest howitzer, which was used by the US artillery during World War II. Following the innovative use of mobile artillery by the German army at the beginning of the conflict, it became widely recognized that artillery pieces needed to be as mobile as tank battalions. The Allies initially mounted their first self-propelled artillery units on half-track vehicles, but the most effective solution emerged with the introduction of the M7 Priest. Using the chassis of the M3 Lee medium tank, the M7 was armed with a 105-mm howitzer M2A1. It was first deployed by British troops in 1942, who nicknamed it "Priest" because the machine gun in front of the vehicle resembled a church pulpit. Sturdy and reliable, it had ample ammunition and provided effective indirect fire support. Throughout the war, it was used by both the American Army and the US Marines on all fronts. Model length: 17.2 cm. Detailed plastic model kit.
