Product details
The model set T34/76 m42 in scale 1:72 contains two models, each approximately 93 mm in length. The 65-ton M103 Heavy Tank served with the US Army and US Marine Corps during the height of the Cold War from 1957 to 1974. Its design was based on the need to counter Soviet heavy tanks, featuring a rifled 120 mm M58 cannon for long-distance engagements. This gun fired a separate-loading round, requiring two loaders, resulting in a crew of five men. The armor was up to 180 mm thick on the front of the turret. Approximately 300 T43E1 tanks were built, with 219 later converted to M103A1 standard and 153 rebuilt into M103A2. This Cold War kit builds upon the previous M103A1 but includes various new-tooled parts such as the engine deck, fender, traveling lock, searchlight, and storage rack. The turret has also been modified. It is extremely well engineered, and the parts separation is cleverly handled by the design team. Modelers can now build another large heavy tank in the small 1/72 scale.
