Italeri MH-53 E Sea Dragon

This large mine-searching helicopter is used by various special units of the U.S. Navy and the Japanese Self-Defense Forces. The Sea Dragon is a more powerful, three-engine version of the two-engine CH-53 "Stallion," which was developed for the U.S. Marine Corps in the 1960s. Some CH-53 helicopters, specially equipped for rescue missions, were also used by the U.S. Air Force. Powerful engines enable the transport and deployment of heavy mine detection systems, which are lowered into the sea from the helicopter while mounted on a hovercraft.
