Italeri Lockheed TR-1A/B

The Lockheed U-2 is one of the most famous high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft in aviation history and an icon of the Cold War. The development of the aircraft was approved in the early 1950s, with its first flight taking place in 1955. The U-2 was characterized by its large wing area and wingspan. Its aerodynamic structure allowed it to operate at altitudes of over 21,000 meters while gathering information using advanced photo and video recording systems. It was initially operated by the CIA and later by the USAF. The design was improved over time, eventually leading to the development of the TR-1A version for high-altitude tactical reconnaissance missions.
