The model is a representation of the Imperial Guard Artillery. Napoleon's Imperial Guard encompassed all assets of the Grande Armée. Foot Grenadiers, Chasseurs-a-Cheval, and the Empress's Dragoons fought alongside the foot and horse artillery of the Guard. This kit represents a unit of the Regiment d'Artillerie a Pied de la Garde Imperiale. Its members were recognizable by the high bearskin hat introduced in 1810. The typical artillery crew of the Guard consisted of eight men.
