For over 50 years, this US manufacturer has been producing trucks known for their quality and sophisticated design. Since 1981, Freightliner Corp. has been owned by Daimler-Benz AG, one of the largest truck manufacturers in the world. However, all activities and products continue to operate completely independently under the original name. All Freightliner trucks share a common technical base concept, but are then customized in many details to meet customer preferences (unlike in Europe). The previous model is a Conventional FLC 12064T tractor unit with a 475 HP Cummins diesel engine and a 13-speed Fuller Roadranger transmission.

Adapted for American long-haul transport, the vehicle is equipped with a separate sleeping cabin. In the USA, the Freightliner Conventional has earned the nickname "The Efficient Machine" from truckers due to its performance. A number of these trucks have also been imported to Europe for demonstration purposes and can be seen at various truck shows.
