Italeri 1:48 F-4E Phantom II

The stand model is a replica of the F-4E Phantom II. The F-4 Phantom II was developed by the American aircraft company McDonnell Douglas and is a two-seat all-weather supersonic fighter-bomber with a tandem configuration. It was introduced into service in the 1960s and is one of the most well-known aircraft in military aviation history.

The original design was specifically developed for the US Navy but was used by all branches of the US armed forces and achieved significant commercial success worldwide. The F-4E version, specifically designed for the US Air Force, features an M61 Vulcan cannon in the nose and can be armed with AIM-9 Sidewinder and AIM-7 Sparrow air-to-air missiles for air superiority missions.

Thanks to its two powerful General Electric J-79 jet engines, the F-4E could reach a maximum speed of 1,240 knots. Speed, thrust, and reliability were the strengths of the Phantom II, successfully compensating for its reduced manoeuvrability due to its large dimensions.
