Who will win the race?

In the French diving film from 1988, directed, written, and produced by Luc Besson, Jean-Marc Barr and Jean Reno take on the lead roles. Rosanna Arquette appears in a supporting role. The fictional story is loosely based on the biographies of the free divers Jacques Mayol and Enzo Maiorca. Besson, who previously worked as a diving instructor and has a brief cameo as a diver, fulfilled a personal dream with this film. The underwater epic won 2 César awards.
