Humbrol No 49 Matt Varnish

Usage
A solvent-based, fast-drying paint designed for use on plastic model kits, but can also be used on other surfaces. Matte, satin, gloss, metallic, metalcoat, and clear coat finishes are available (the finish varies depending on the color).

Surface
A variety of surfaces, including most plastics, wood, glass, ceramics, metal, cardboard, sealed plaster, sealed hardboard, and more (always test a small area first for suitability).

Coverage
A 14ml can covers approximately 0.3m², depending on the thickness of the layer.

Application
Apply directly from the can with a brush. Spray with a suitable thinner such as Humbrol Enamel Thinners. Two thin coats are better than one thick coat. The usual thinning ratio is 2 parts paint to 1 part thinner. Note that metalcoat colors are designed to be polished after full drying.

Drying Time
Gloss: 1-2 hours
Matte & Satin: 20-40 minutes to dust dry, up to 24 hours for fully dry
Metallic: fully dry after about 10 days. Drying times vary depending on ambient temperature and humidity. Recoating: at least 6 hours (preferably overnight).

Cleaning Instructions:
Brush: Use Humbrol Enamel Thinners
Airbrush: thoroughly rinse with Humbrol Enamel Thinners. The product is permanent after drying.
